I've been cycling on and off with a local group for a couple years. Last Saturday as we were riding, two of the women asked me to participate in le Tour de Femme, an all-women's cycling event in Raleigh, that raises money for cancer research. Being a colon-cancer survivor (10 years), this was an important cause for me. I've never done a group cycling event before and thought this might be a good one to try. The team all stays at one of the woman's house in Raleigh and they encouraged me to join them. So I decided to give it a try, particularly because I like the cycling jersey the participants can either win by raising $1,000 or buy themselves. What did I have to lose. Whether or not I reach my goal, I'll come away with wonderful memories and a keepsake. The group's name is "Team Wendy" for a relative who lost the battle to cancer. I hope you'll support our efforts. Thanks.
